A biobank refers to a collection of biological samples and their associated data.
A biobank as a service must include the following tasks:
customer service -receipt of samples, management of applications, cessions,....-, and
treatment and storage of the main elements -samples and data-.
Due to the critical nature of its elements, a biobank must meet international norms and standards to ensure the quality of its elements throughout the value chain.
In particular, software tools should be used which integrated with laboratory protocols ensure quality of service at the very least and, depending on needs and resources, gradually achieve scalable levels of assurance assurance and excellence.
